In the Senior Camp, there is 1 staff member for every 10 campers. The campers are supervised 24 hours/day by the camp counsellors and directors. Campers have freedom within the organized activities and they separate into smaller camper groups during scheduled excursions. Senior Camp counsellors are always available for assistance.
Senior Camp counsellors are university students (minimum 19 years old). They have been carefully selected for their character, sense of responsibility, organization and maturity. They have experience working with young adults and are trained to provide positive guidance and assistance to the senior campers. Most importantly, they relate well to high school students and genuinely enjoy spending time with the seniors, so it’s normal for campers and counsellors to keep in touch long after camp has ended.
Campers and counsellors live in the same residences, in rooms located next to each other.
Basic medical services are handled by the camp infirmary or the medical clinic located a few minutes walk from the camps. The McGill University medical complex handles all other medical services for our campers.
